Net bags

These are some pieces I upcycled from fishing net found  on the beach. When I am Beach combing down in Kerry I always come across large amounts of fishing net and ropes in various lengths and sizes. I keep it for various applications . It is designed to be at sea for long periods of time so it has a good longevity . On the other hand it is a plastic and its fibres are largely responsible

For the amount of micro plastics in our oceans and fish. What is the alternative either a new fibre or a return to the old . I will have to research more  before I develop an opinion . In the mean time 

I remove from the beach a d recyclé what I can.

I would like to claim responsibility for this design but I am sure my subconscious saw it on another's surfers van a long time ago .

Very handy for surfers booties and gloves on a windy day , unless you like running down the beach after your gear . All can  be replicated fairly easily depending on materials and time frame . Click on the picture to view others
