Planter or storage unit

This is another of my upcycled designs , the barrel was retrieved from a ditch or skip . There is quite a lot of work Involved in this . For a Start it was encrusted with cement pretty much all over it . I would say it was used by a briky as a step up to render a wall .

Then removing the Top plate with an angle grinder . I did drill a hole first to remove any pressure!  I imagine a spark igniting my 

Barrel and launching me into the neibhours garden ( not cool )

If your not accustomed to using  an angle grinder I would not recommend.  This is tricky and  good  quality ear  protection needed as the sound  reverberates back  from the drum . The same goes for eye protection , all round  not just glasses. I wear this stuff as second nature but I see a  lot of guys with con saws wearing nothing !!  

Initially I used them as planters for small trees , I now use them on the fireplace to store coal and logs. The two inbuilt handels are very handy for manouvering  but a hand trolly works best when they are full .
